Let's explain how to pin an email in Gmail using the Star label. You can also use the Important label if you want to, but you won't be able to follow the instructions below exactly as they are written.

It takes just three simple steps to keep all Gmail starred messages on top:

1. Open Gmail in your favorite web browser and log in to your inbox.
2. Click the Star icon next to each message you want to pin to the top of your inbox.

3. Click the Settings gear icon and select the Starred first Inbox type.

iPhone & iPad

If you use the Gmail app on your iPhone or iPad, here is how to pin email in Gmail app on your smartphone:

1. Launch the app on your mobile device.
2. Tap the Star icon next to each message your want to be pinned.

3. Open the Hamburger menu in the search bar and tap Settings.
4. Navigate to the Inbox type section.
5. Select the Starred first option, tap Done, and go back to your inbox.

Android

Android users can pin an email in the Gmail app using these steps:

1. Launch the app on your Android device.
