The reply-to address on an email indicates where responses to that email are sent. By default, the email replies go to the email address from which the email was sent. But, sending from one address and getting replies at another is possible in Outlook and OWA.
If you want to send your messages from one address but prefer to receive replies at another (at least most of the time), Outlook handles the reply-to field for you after you change one account setting.

Change reply to address for an individual email message

Outlook:

1. Start Outlook and open New Email or use Reply, Reply All or Forward options for any existing email opened in a new window.

For your information, both are almost the same, and they can be configured via Local Group Policy Editor and Registry Editor.

How to prevent Outlook from saving credentials for Basic Authentication

To configure saving credentials for Basic Authentication in Outlook, follow these steps:

1. Search for gpedit.msc in the Taskbar search box.
2. Click on the search result.
3. Go to Account Settings > E-mail in User Configuration.
4. Double-click on Prevent saving credentials for Basic Authentication policy setting.
5. Select the Enabled option.
6. Click the OK button.

First, you need to open the Local Group Policy Editor. For that, you can search for gpedit.msc or gpedit in the Taskbar search box and click on the individual search result.

Then, navigate to this path:

User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Microsoft Outlook 2016 > Account Settings > E-mail

Here you can find a setting named Prevent saving credentials for Basic Authentication policy. You need to double-click on this setting and choose the Enabled option to prevent users from saving credentials for the Basic Authentication policy.

On the other hand, if you want to opt for the original setting, you need to choose the Disabled or Not Configured option.

At last, click the OK button and restart the Outlook app.

How to configure saving credentials for Basic Authentication in Outlook using Registry

To configure saving credentials for Basic Authentication in Outlook using Registry, follow these steps:

1. Press Win+R and type regedit in the box.
2. Click the OK button and click on the Yes button.
3. Navigate to Microsoft\office\16.0 in HKCU.
4. Right-click on 0 > New > Key and name it as outlook.
5. Right-click on outlook > New > Keyand name it as rpc.
6. Right-click on rpc > New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
7. Set the name as disablebasicauthsavedcreds.
8. Double-click on it to set the Value data as 1.
9. Click the OK button.
10. Restart your computer.

To get started, press Win+R to display the Run prompt. Then, type regedit, and click the OK button. If the UAC prompt appears on your screen, you need to click on the Yes button to open the Registry Editor on your computer.

Next, you need to navigate to the following path:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\16.0

Right-click on 16.0 > New > Key and name it outlook. Then, right-click on the outlook key, select New > Key, and set the name as rpc.

Once done, you need to create a REG_DWORD value. For that, right-click on rpc > New > DWORD (32-bit) Value and name it disablebasicauthsavedcreds.

The default value data is set to 0. If you want to get the factory defaults, this is what you need. However, if you want to prevent saving credentials for the Basic Authentication policy in Outlook, you need to double-click on it and set the Value data as 1.

Finally, click the OK button, close all windows, and restart your computer to get the change.

As said earlier, if you want to get the original setting, you have two options. You can set the Value data as 0 or delete the REG_DWORD value. For that, right-click on the disablebasicauthsavedcreds, select the Delete option, and click on the Yes button.

How do I stop Credential Manager from storing passwords?

To stop Credential Manager from storing password in Windows 11/10, you need to use the Local Security Policy. 3. Select the printer that you want to remove and click Remove.

5. Connect your printer to your system and add it again.

After adding the printer, launch Outlook and print your email. Check if it crashes this time or not.

3] Change your default printer

If Outlook still crashes when printing, you need to change your default printer and make a virtual printer your default printer. You can set either Microsoft Print to PDF or Microsoft XPS Document Writer as your default printer. After setting the virtual printer as your default printer, the email will be saved as a copy on your disk whenever you give the print command, say in PDF format (if the printer is Microsoft Print to PDF). Now, you can print that file easily.

4] Clear Print Spooler

Print Spooler is a Service in Windows 11/10 that manages print jobs sent from a computer to a print server. Clearing the Print Spooler has been proven helpful in resolving various issues on a Windows computer like when printing jobs get stuck. The steps to clear Print Spooler are written below:

1. Open the Services Manager.
2. Look for the Print Spooler Service.
3. Right-click on it and select Stop.

Now, open File Explorer and go to the following location:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool

Open the PRINTERS folder and delete everything inside it. Do not delete the PRINTERS folder. Open the Services Manager again, right-click on the Print Spooler service, and select Start.

5] Repair your system files

Corrupted system files are one of the causes of such types of issues. The SFC and DISM tools help users repair corrupted system files. Run these two tools and see if it brings any changes.

6] Open Outlook in Safe Mode

If it does not crash in Safe Mode, the problem is with one of your installed add-ins.

Now, close Outlook safe mode and open it in normal mode. Disable add-ins one by one and print an email every time you disable an add-in. When you will be able to print successfully, the add-in that you have just disabled is the culprit. Now, remove that add-in and look for its alternative. To disable an add-in in Outlook, follow the steps written below:

1. Open Outlook.
2. Go to “File > Options > Add-Ins.”
3. Select COM Add-ins in the Manage drop-down and click Go.
4. Uncheck the Add-in that you want to disable and click OK.

In this post, we will show you how to disable or turn off the Metered connection warning you may see in Outlook when you launch the email client. This message can also appear in other apps that may want to save on your data costs.

METERED NETWORK WARNING, We noticed the metered connection you’re on may charge extra. Outlook is working offline to prevent data charges.

How to remove METERED NETWORK WARNING in Outlook

To disable or turn off the Metered connection warning you may see in Outlook on your Windows 11/10 computer, follow these steps:

3. Click on your Networks Properties on the right side
4. Turn off the button against Metered Connection

Use CMD to disable Metered Connection in Windows 11/10

You can also use the Command Prompt to set a metered connection in Windows 11/10. To see the list of Wi-Fi profiles on your computer, copy-paste the following command and hit Enter:

netsh wlan show profiles

Note down the name of the Wi-Fi connection here which you wish to set as a metered connection. Here I am using the example of Airtel.

Now type the following in the CMD windows, replacing Airtel-WRTR301GN-8897_1 name with your connections name, and hit Enter:

netsh wlan show profile name="Airtel-WRTR301GN-8897_1"

This will show the details of the selected connection.

Scroll down till you see Cost settings. Here against Cost, you see Unrestricted in my case. This means that the connection is un-metered or unlimited. To change it to metered, you have to set it to Fixed. Use the following command and hit Enter:

netsh wlan set profileparameter name="Airtel-WRTR301GN-8897_1" cost=Fixed

You will see a command executed successfully message and the connection will be set as a metered connection.

To turn off Metered Connections for a network using command prompt, use this command:

netsh wlan set profileparameter name="Airtel-WRTR301GN-8897_1" cost=Unrestricted

Turn off Metered Connection using Windows Registry

Open Registry Editor and navigate to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\DefaultMediaCost

You will see different keys like 3G, 4G, WiFi, Ethernet, etc. The values for it are as follows:

• 1 – Unmetered connection
• 2 – Metered connection

Identify your network connection, double-click on it and change its value to 1.

That’s it!

Metered Connection feature is quite helpful in limiting the data usage so that you don’t get shocked while billing the data consumed payments. Many operators have provided the plan which can be supposed as Metered Connection. Especially talking about 4G and 5G unlimited plans, after a certain limit, you’ll observe that your bandwidth is reduced to a lower rate; this is generally known as the FUP limit.

Theoretically, Metered Connection is the condition when your operator charges you with direct proportionality of the amount of data used so far.
